I. Brief Introduction

Sanya Institute of Henan University (hereinafter referred to as SIHU) is an innovative educational and scientific research institution. Orienting towards globalization, SIHU focuses on facilitating national food security and innovation in the seed industry, serving the regional development of Henan and Hainan province, and implementing the "Double First-class Plan" of Henan University. SIHU carries out extensive talent cultivation, scientific research and  commercialization of research findings.

SIHU focuses on modern biological breeding, widely recruits both domestic and international leading innovative talents, and actively brings in high-quality innovative power and resources. SIHU will further promote open and collaborative innovation,  strive for major breakthroughs in the original theory and key technology, increase the number of high-level research talents, and output influential achievements in the field of biological breeding. SIHU aims to become a scientific and technological innovation center and talent training base with global influence, and develop a modern model for the integration of science and education, as well for a new benchmark for school-local cooperation with a win-win output, thereby making contributions to the economic development of Hainan Province and the construction of ‘Nanfan Silicon Valley’.

(1) Talent team

There are 10 managerial staff in SIHU at present. Three scientific research teams have settle in SIHU, including Corn Stress Adaptation and Improvement research team, Biological Nitrogen Fixation and Legume Biology research team, and Cotton Stress Adaptation and Molecular Genetic Breeding research team, with more than 40 full-time or part-time researchers.

(2) Talent cultivation

Depending on the “World First-class Biology Discipline” of Henan University, the State Key Laboratory of Cotton Biology and the State Key Laboratory of Crop Stress Adaptation and Improvement, SIHU has enrolled 20 doctoral candidates and 45 master candidates, and cultivated them with the method of “non-whole process training in different places”. Postgraduates complete most of their program in Hainan while learning courses are mainly completed in Henan University.

(3) Platform construction

The laboratory of the SIHU locates in Yazhou Bay Innovation Research Valley, with an area of 7335 square meters containing the first batch of scientific research instruments and equipment which worth more than 30 million yuan. At present the laboratory is renovated and will be put into use in October this year. SIHU owns an experimental field of 106 mu located in the Nanfan Core Area which is under construction and will be put into use in September this year.

Ⅱ. Position: PI/Staff Scientist

SIHU is recruiting outstanding scientific research talents from all over the world. Positions include leading talents, outstanding talents, top-notch talents, young talents, and young backbone.

1. Basic requirements

Have good ideological and political quality, abide by national laws and regulations as well institute rules and regulations, abide by professional ethics and work discipline, have strong team spirit and service consciousness, willing to engage in scientific work.

2. Candidates shoud be physically and mentally healthy, dignified appearance, no serious disease or chronic history, no criminal record. Strong sense of responsibility, cheerful personality, highly agree with the development concept and culture of SIHU.

(2) Job requirements

1. Have a doctoral degree from well-known domestic or oversea universities.

2. Leading talents and outstanding talents should be under the age of 55 normally while young top-notch talents and full-time scientific research personnel should be under the age of 40 normally.

3. Have achievements with significant influence in the research field in the past five years.

4. Professional background: crop science, biology, agricultural resource utilization or bioinformatics, etc.

5. Preferred directions: crop genetics and breeding, molecular design and breeding, promotion of high-quality crop varieties and seed industrialization, smart agriculture. Research experience in corn, soybean, cotton or other important crops is valued. We also welcome outstanding researchers from other emerging and interdisciplinary research fields.

At the same time, we welcome excellent researchers from other relevant emerging and interdisciplin.

(3) The number of recruitments

There are 4 positions in Corn Stress Adaptation and Improvement research team, 4 positions in Biological Nitrogen Fixation and Legume Biology research team and 2 positions for Cotton Stress Adaptation and Molecular Genetic Breeding research team.

(4) Salary and Benefits

1. The salary of leading talents and outstanding talents is different and will be determined after interview. The annual salary of

Top-notch talent, young talent and young backbone is 300~500 thousand yuan.

2. SIHU assists all applicants to apply for Sanya Talent apartment and High-level talent subsidy from Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City (800,000 to 4,000,000 yuan).

3. Applicants who meet the high-level talent standards of Henan University when brought in or after several year of development can apply for the establishment of Henan University career establishment.

(5) Scientific research support

1. Leading talents and outstanding talents will be provided with research start-up funds of not less than 5 million yuan. Top-notch talents, young talents and young backbone will be provided with research start-up funds not less than 1 million yuan.

2. SIHU provides office and laboratory space.
