About Forum

Introduction to the Forum

To promote international academic exchange and recruit outstanding scientific talent to Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City (YZBSTC), the "2022 First Yazhou International Young Scholars Forum" will be held in Sanya in October 2022. This forum will feature a plenary session and 12 topical sessions and will be offered both online and in-person.

YZBSTC is located in the city of Sanya on the southern coast of Hainan Island in China. The goal of this 69.3-square-kilometer area within a city is to incubate scientific research and spark the creation of new companies. Designated as one of 11 key industrial parks in the Hainan Free Trade Port, YZBSTC includes the Nanfan Science and Technology City, Sanya Deep Ocean Science and Technology City, Nanshan Port, and the Global Animal and Plant Germplasm Resources Transfer Base. YZBSTC already harbors research institutions from 12 prominent universities such as Zhejiang University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China Agricultural University, Ocean University of China, Wuhan University of Technology, Nanjing Agricultural University, and Harbin Engineering University, which together are training thousands of graduate students, postdocs, and research scientists. YZBSTC expects to add an additional 790 positions at postdoctoral and staff scientist levels in the near future.
