院系简介
南方科技大学生命科学学院已于2020年12月4日举行揭牌成立仪式。学院首任院长由神经生物学家、中国科学院院士、香港科学院创院院士张明杰担任。南科大自创校起便设置了生命科学学科，近年来该学科快速发展，取得了一系列成绩。在不久前出炉的泰晤士高等教育世界大学生命科学学科排名榜中并列内地第9，其中，国际视野位列内地第2，产业收入与引文指标位列中国内地第3名；在今年自然指数的机构排行榜中，南科大生命科学学科位列中国第30位，仅次于香港科技大学。生命科学学院将在原生物系基础上，拟建设不少于五个系所，包括生物系、免疫与微生物研究所、系统生物学系、化学生物学系、神经生物学系。学院将在建设传统生物学方向的基础上，引入现代生命科学特点，开展跨学科交叉研究，将传统的生命科学领域揉合到跨学科交叉研究系或中心中，促进新技术开发应用，迎接生命科学定量化、大数据化、多维度、多尺度等特点。
